More effective protected areas needed to halt biodiversity loss

During the last 30 years, insects and spiders of protected natural areas of the UK suffered a great decline, that seems to be hard to halt. This fact has initiated a study focusing on the nature reserve in the UK and their comparison to unprotected areas. The results showed that nature reserves protect more species than unprotected areas, but lose them at the same rate.
